May is National Military Appreciation Month. As part of this celebration honoring our military, VFW Post 6022 will have the following events:
Veterans Remembrance Buddy Poppy Distribution
VFW Post 6022 will have it's Memorial Day Buddy Poppy Distribution on 26-27 May from 8:30 am until noon at local Winn-Dixie stores located at 5 Points in Tuscaloosa; and McFarland Blvd & Watermelon Road in Northport. These small flowers are handmade by disabled veterans. There is no cost but donations are always accepted. If you see a veteran handing out poppies, please take one and wear it with pride in recognition of those that defended and are now defending our way of life.
Memorial Day Fish Fry
VFW Post 6022 & Auxiliary - 29 May 2017, 11:00 am until the fish run out. Fried Catfish; Baked Beans; Coleslaw; Hushpuppies; $8.00/plate. Proceeds go to the Veterans Assistance and Community Service Program fund(s). Better get there early because we usually run out fast. VFW Post 6022, 7001 University Blvd East, Cottondale, AL.
