Former UAB Blazer Delivers Gameday Ball

Rick Karle WBRC

It was one of the most emotional scenes I have witnessed in 37 years of broadcasting. Former Blazer Tim Alexander, paralyzed in an auto accident a decade ago, got up from his wheelchair and walked the game ball to midfield prior to the UAB-Alabama A&M game. He kept his promise that if UAB football came back he would walk. The return of UAB football is due in large part to Tim's unwavering drive and determination, & Saturday's efforts by Tim signified the kind of work it took to bring back Blazer football. Because you shared this post, ESPN took notice & featured Tim Saturday night on SportsCenter Let's continue to share this beautiful moment!
