Winter Storm Watch Tuesday Morning

Today, highs will warm into the upper 40s to lower 50s with mostly sunny skies. Tonight, cloud cover will increase as the front nears northwest Central Alabama around sunrise. There is a slight chance of light snow in the far northwest before sunrise, but model trends show most, if not all, of the snowfall occurring after 6AM Tuesday.

Below is an updated graphic showing snow timing and impact areas. Less than two inches of snow accumulation is expected. However, with temperatures falling quickly into the 20s behind the front, travel could become difficult.

Additionally, a Hard Freeze is expected Wednesday and Thursday mornings, with low temperatures in the teens. Wind chill values are forecast to range from zero degrees in the North to the teens in the South late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
