Vince Gill Shared Story About Teacher That Tried to Abuse Him

Everyone's talking about VINCE GILL's emotional appearance at the Country Radio Seminar yesterday in Nashville.

He performed a song he wrote called "Forever Changed" . . . which is about a young girl whose life will never be the same because of abuse. But BEFORE he started, he shared a story of something that happened to him when he was young.

He told the crowd, quote, "Maybe this song came from a personal experience.

"I was in seventh grade. I was a young dumb kid, and I had a gym teacher that acted inappropriately towards me, and was trying to do things that I didn't know what the hell was going on.

"I was just fortunate that I got up and ran. I just jumped up and I ran. I don't know why. I don't think I ever told anybody my whole life. Even what's been going on has been giving me a little bit of courage to speak up, too"

Obviously, everyone in the audience was surprised . . . and hanging on every word.

He continued, quote, "I wrote this song years ago, and never really knew where it came from until now, when people are finally having the courage to speak out about abuse.

"I think it's beyond beautiful and beyond healthy to see people who've been wronged finally having a voice."
