Election Day In Tuscaloosa

Voters in Tuscaloosa's municipal election might want to make sure they have an umbrella as they head to the polls Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham forecasts a 90 percent chance of precipitation that day, with showers and thunderstorms mainly after noon.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and the final ballots will be tabulated at City Hall.

Voters citywide will choose a mayor, either incumbent Walt Maddox or challenger Stepfon "Step" Lewis. In the only other citywide race, Eric Wilson is unopposed for chairman of the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.

In District 1, voters will choose between incumbent Phyllis Wade Odom and Willie Gordon in the City Council race. In the District 1 board of education race, Matthew Wilson, Earnestine Young, LaQushia "Que" Chandler and Tony Humphries are running.

In District 2, voters will choose between incumbent Harrison Taylor and Raevan Howard in the City Council race. In the District 2 board of education race, incumbent Earnestine Tucker, Kendra Williams and Paul Sanders are running.

In District 3, Cynthia Almond is unopposed in the City Council race. Guy May is also unopposed in the District 3 board of education race.

In District 4, Matt Calderone is unopposed in the City Council race. In the District 4 board of education race, Patrick Hamner and Zoe Winston are running,

In District 5, voters will choose between incumbent Kip Tyner and Brett LaFerrera in the City Council race. In the District 5 board of education race, incumbent Harry Lee, Erica Grant, Lauren Wilson and Beth Cleino Allway are running.

In District 6, voters will choose between incumbent Eddie Pugh and Alan "AJ" Johnson in the City Council race. In the District 6 board of education race, incumbent Marvin Lucas and Andrew Robertson are running.

In District 7, Sonya McKinstry is unopposed in the City Council race. In the District 7 board of education race, incumbent Erskine Simmons and LaQuetta Peoples are running.
