Possible Severe Weather Today

Tropical Depression Harvey could bring some rough weather today.  The storm, which made its second landfall on Wednesday in Louisiana, is now weakening as it tracks to the northeast and will move through western Mississippi throughout the day today.

The center of Harvey was 15 miles south of Monroe, La., early Thursday morning, and was moving north-northeast around 10 mph.

Storms from Harvey brought a lot of rain and severe weather to parts of south Alabama on Wednesday.

While more rain will be possible today from storms associated with Harvey, the main concern for all of Alabama today will be severe weather today.

Severe storms and a few tornadoes will be possible today across the state, with the best chances in north and central Alabama.  NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of north and central Alabama under a slight risk of severe weather today.

A slight risk means scattered severe storms will be possible.
