The University of Iowa has just started a new tradition on its college football Saturdays, and it’s already the best one in all of sports.
The new UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital was built with quite a view, overlooking Kinnick Stadium and providing patients with a very unique view on Saturdays in the fall. Knowing that several kids would be watching Iowa’s season opener against Wyoming, officials suggested that fans wave to the children during the game.
Hawkeye fans did just that on Saturday afternoon.
At the end of the first quarter, fans turned and waved at children in the hospital, which turned into one of the most heartwarming moments in college football this week:
