Casual racism is so prominent that it even managed to slip into America's 18th most popular cereal.
Kellogg's recently released a new Corn Pops box that has a picture of cartoon corn pops characters hanging out at a mall. All of the characters are the same yellow corn color except for one. There's one brown one . . . and he's the janitor.
A guy named Saladin Ahmed from Detroit spotted the janitor corn pop on Tuesday morning and tweeted a photo of it to Kellogg's.
He wrote, quote, "This is teaching kids racism . . . yes it's a tiny thing, but when you see your kid staring at this over breakfast and realize millions of other kids are doing the same . . ."
Kellogg's quickly tweeted an apology and said they're planning to update the box.
And now Saladin is getting flooded with racist tweets, as things always go these days. These are good times we live in. (USA Today / Washington Post)
