The front is through the area, but unfortunately (or fortunately if ya need more rain) we will continue with rain chances for the next couple of days for many.
For today, a cold light rain will spread across the area from the southwest. The best rain chances will be across the south. Daytime high temperatures will range from the middle to upper 40s for most except for lower to middle 50s far southeast. The atmosphere above the surface is still rather warm, so only rain is anticipated for today. For tonight, cloudiness continues with areas of light rain overnight for many, generally along and south of Interstate 20. Overnight low temperatures will be in the middle to upper 30s. Cloudy skies continue for Thursday with areas of rain across the southeast. Daytime high temperatures will range through the 40s to around 50 degrees.
As we move into Friday we are expecting the atmosphere to be cold enough above the surface for some to have a rain/snow mix possible. Here is the latest information on any possible impacts.
1. Temperatures will be above freezing and will limit accumulations.
2. Localized 0.1" to 0.25" accumulations will be possible on grassy surfaces.
3. Amounts of up to 0.5" are possible at higher elevations in Eastern Alabama.
4. At this time, we are only looking for a rain/snow mix possible in the counties highlighted in light blue.
