Netflix knows that one of the biggest challenges facing parents these days is that it's really hard to convince kids to watch TV. (???)
Fortunately, they've just come up with a genius way to incentivize children, who otherwise WOULDN'T have their heads buried in a screen.
They recently started testing a new "patches" feature, which gives kids digital badges for watching Netflix. They can rack up accomplishments like watching every episode of 'Fuller House', or binging "Skylanders Academy".
It basically turns watching Netflix constantly into a game . . . with little red locks shown on collectable achievements until they're "unlocked."
Of course, it's a little sinister . . . and plenty of parents aren't going to be cool with it.
For what it's worth, Netflix says they're just trying it out, and it might not become permanent.
