With the threat of severe storms today, a few school have already decided to close early, or close their after school programs. Here's a list of the latest closing as of now:
The following schools will be dismissing beginning at 12 noon today:
- Birmingham City Schools
- Fayette Christian Academy
- Jasper City Schools
- Pickens County Schools
- Sumiton Christian Achool
- Walker County Schools
- Winfield City Schools
Tuscaloosa City Schools will implement early dismissal today. Students will be dismissed in the following manner:
High Schools, The Alberta School of Performing Arts, Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools, Success Prep, S.T.A.R.S Academy and Brewer Porch will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.;
- Middle Schools (except Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools Middle) will dismiss at noon; and
- Elementary schools (minus Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Elementary and The Alberta School of Performing Arts will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
- Tuscaloosa Public Library - 11:30 a.m.
After school programs will not take place at the following schools:
- Tuscaloosa City Schools
- Tuscaloosa County Schools
- American Christian Academy
