TUSCALOOSA - Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the following Counties:

Western Chilton County

Tuscaloosa County

Perry County

East central Greene County

Hale County

Bibb County

until 11 AM.  At 8 AM, heavy rains from Subtropical Depression Alberto   were producing rainfall amounts from gauge locations of over 3   inches in several locations over the past three hours. Flash   flooding is likely over at least the next couple of hours as rain   bands continue to pivot over the same areas.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...   Tuscaloosa, Northport, Clanton, Brent, Marion, Centreville,   Jemison, Greensboro, Holt, Moundville, Thorsby, Lake View,   Brookwood, Coaling, Vance, Woodstock, West Blocton, Coker,   Maplesville and Akron.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:  Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
