This is like lightning strikes twice, baseball edition. An Oakland A's fan caught a foul ball in the 7th inning of their game against the Royals on Sunday. Then he caught another one on the VERY NEXT PITCH. They happened 22 seconds apart.
The guy's name is Bill. He looks like he's in his mid-to-late 40s, and he's a lifelong A's fan. He was interviewed later in the game, and he said the second one really caught him off guard.
He barely had time to high-five his friends and put the first ball in his pocket. Then he looked up, and ANOTHER ball was coming.
He said he's been going to games his whole life . . . about 10 a year . . . and he'd NEVER caught a foul ball before this. Now he's done it twice.
Believe it or not, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Just last year, ANOTHER Oakland A's fan snagged two foul balls on back-to-back pitches.
That one wasn't as good though, because the guy had to hustle and grabbed the first one on a bounce. Bill actually CAUGHT both balls, and didn't even have to move.
