First IHOP-Applebee's Hybrid Restaurant Now Exists

The city of Detroit is trying to bring in tourists by revamping its downtown area. And this kind of crazy Frankenstein idea might actually work . . .

This week, they opened the first ever IHOP-Applebee's HYBRID restaurant. Yes, you can get stuff off both menus. So if you've always wanted to get chicken alfredo with a side of pancakes, this is a big day for you.

Some people are calling it "IHOPlebee's." Other people are calling it "Beehop", which is a lot shorter, but not as fun to say.

They started serving breakfast about a month ago. But the Applebee's part wasn't up and running until this Tuesday. So now you can go in and order stuff from both menus. But it's not a total free-for-all.

They only serve breakfast from 6:30 to 11:00. Then for the rest of the day, the menu includes stuff from both restaurants, but not everything. For example, they don't serve IHOP's new burgers. They only serve Applebee's burgers.

It doesn't sound like the hybrid idea is coming to any other cities right now. The one in Detroit was originally supposed to just be an Applebee's. But it's in the bottom of a big hotel, and Applebee's doesn't do breakfast. So that's why they joined forces.
