Tennis legend Serena Williams made a surprise appearance during rapper Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show Sunday (February 9) night at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, was shown Crip Walking during Lamar's performance of 'Not Like Us,' which she acknowledged in a video shared after the cameo.
"Man, I did not Crip Walk like that at Wimbledon, ooh, I would've been FINED," she said excitedly in a video shared on her X account. "It was all love."
Williams also shared a video of herself posing for photos after the appearance.
"Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!" she wrote on her X account.
The appearance was met with controversy as Williams, who is now married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, had previously dated rapper Drake, who Lamar targeted in the song and made several serious allegations against. Williams who, like Lamar, grew up in Compton, was specifically mentioned in 'Not Like Us' as the rapper warned, "better not speak on Serena."
