Emmy Russell and Tyler Ward shared an update after asking for prayers for their baby.
Russell and Ward welcomed daughter Taylor Ray (Raydiant) Ward, on January 31. They shared in an update on Tuesday (July 22), and Ward explained that “we learned yesterday that she has infantile spasms, which, after doing research, it’s 00.02% of conditions. So, (it’s) very, very rare…and often, treated early, results can be positive. It’s about 50-50 chance, which is crazy. We feel like y’all’s prayers and support have actually made a huge difference. We saw her this morning before we gave her to the MRI, and she seems like she’s more herself. But they issued some steroids to help the brain activity slow down, and she hasn’t spasmed today, which is huge. So, the MRI results will reveal kind of the future. Seeing this support, I don’t even have words. (I’m) just really grateful, and I know that Emmy is grateful. This is a process.”
Russell thanked everyone “so much for the continued prayers. We really do believe it's helping shift towards healing,” she wrote as she shared the update on Instagram. “Thank you for your continued prayers, truly.”
The former American Idol finalist and her husband previously shared that Taylor Ray had been enduring what “could be small seizures.” They said their baby was “fussy” and “crying” for a few days, and at first, they thought it might’ve been because of teething. However, Russell and Ward “rushed to the doctor” when they noticed Taylor Ray’s “small spasms.” Russell admitted in a previous update that it’s “lonely” to go through this, and “we’ve been crying all day long.” Russell and Ward asked others to “please, please continue to pray.”
