Dramatic dashcam footage captured a 70-year-old driver's car going airborne over the busy Sunrise Highway in New York. The incident occurred when the driver, heading south on Pine Acres Boulevard, experienced a medical episode, believed to be a seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The car launched off a hill, soaring over six lanes of traffic during peak rush hour.
Witnesses were stunned by the scene. Brandon Hyacinthe, described the car as looking "like a meteor going across the highway" when he spoke to News12 New York.
According to Dennison DeNatalie from the Bay Shore Fire Department, the car miraculously landed against a tree on the side of oncoming traffic. Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, the driver managed to exit the vehicle with only minor injuries. The incident has raised concerns about driver safety and the importance of medical fitness for operating vehicles.
